Indian regulations require that every organization intending to conduct research involving hazardous microorganisms/genetically modified organisms or cells should constitute an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBSC) to approve and periodically review the biosafety aspects of the research projects. The IBSC of our University is constituted as per DBT, Govt of India guidelines vide letter no BT/BS/17/641/2015-PID.
The Integral University IBSC consists of University faculty, staff and external, DBT nominated members. The IU IBC reviews and assesses research projects and laboratory-based courses conducted on campus or by faculty who utilize biohazardous materials.
