  • To provide in-depth knowledge about key areas of agricultural sciences such as agronomy, soil science, genetics and plant breeding, agricultural extension, plant protection, livestock and microbiology.
  • To build students competent enough in the field of agricultural sciences and its allied areas by giving them hands on experience in field experiments, basic tools and techniques.
  • To be able to calculate the need of the economy for seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, fuels and lubricants, agricultural machines, implements and equipment, labor resources, assess the quality of field work (soil cultivation, sowing, crop care, harvesting, primary processing of cereals, etc.).
  • To develop scientific, economic and environmental principles underpinning agricultural production and land use among the students.
  • To motivate the students to pursue higher education and research at national and international level in the field of agricultural science.
  • To promote, encourage and coordinate the study, development and profession of Agricultural Engineering in all its branches.

  • To encourage the students for research in the field of process and food engineering, farm power and machinery engineering, soil and water conservation engineering and irrigation engineering to solve the rural and urban areas problems.

  • Basic knowledge of Soil Science: Applied knowledge of Soil Physics, Soil Chemistry,Soil Biology, Soil Survey and Classification, Soil and Water Conservation Practices.
  • Problem solving: Identification of soil properties, review research literature, and analyze problematic soil and nutrient deficiencies in soil and plant, reaching substantiated conclusions through fertilizer recommendationfor sustainable agriculture development.
  • Identification and Designing of research problems: Designing of research problems related to biotic, abiotic stresses etc. Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • Scientific skills: Imparting excellent education and generate young workforce skilled with knowhow of novel soil science related techniques.Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques and resources.
  • Integrated Sustainable Soil Management: Mastering ability to categories soil, assess soil class capability/suitability, and offer recommendations based on initiatives to improve limiting aspects of soil characteristics using modern information technology and the integrated sustainable soil management (ISSM) method.
  • Environment and sustainability: Understanding the impact of the inorganic and organic agricultural chemicals in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
