1. Introduction:

Integral University is committed to fostering a learning and working environment that is inclusive, fair, and supportive for all individuals. This policy ensures that the university’s admission and employment practices promote non-discrimination, equity, ethical sourcing, and protection for individuals reporting discrimination.

2. Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to establish comprehensive guidelines to prevent discrimination, promote equity and inclusion, and ensure fair treatment across all university functions, including admissions and employment.

3. Scope:

This policy applies to all university members, including students, staff, faculty, contractors, and partners.

4. Protected Characteristics & Non-Discrimination

The university shall not discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity (including transgender status), or socio-economic background. All policies and practices related to admissions and employment shall be reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with non-discrimination principles.

  • 4.1. Age The university ensures that individuals of all ages are treated equitably in admission, employment, and all other academic or professional opportunities within the regulatory framework. There shall be no discrimination on the basis of age, and policies shall support both younger and older members of the university community.
  • 4.2. Race and Ethnicity Discrimination based on race or ethnicity is strictly prohibited. The university will promote racial equity and celebrate diversity through inclusive curriculum, campus events, and representation in leadership roles.
  • 4.3. Religion Integral University respects all faiths and religious beliefs. The university shall not discriminate against any individual based on religion or belief. Provisions shall be made to accommodate religious holidays, and sentiments within the regulatory framework.
  • 4.4. Nationality The university embraces a global perspective and ensures equal treatment of individuals regardless of their nationality. Immigration or visa status shall not affect access to opportunities within the institution.
  • 4.5. Caste Integral University upholds the principles of caste equity and prohibits all forms of caste-based discrimination. Efforts shall be made to foster inter-caste harmony and provide support to individuals from historically marginalized castes.
  • 4.6. Gender All gender identities, including men, women, transgender, and non-binary individuals, shall be treated with equal respect and opportunity.
    • 4.6.1. Non-Discrimination Against Women The university shall ensure equal opportunities for women in all areas of admissions, employment, and promotions. Initiatives shall be taken to create a safe and supportive environment for women on campus, including mentorship programs, leadership training, and a zero-tolerance policy toward gender-based harassment.
    • 4.6.2. Non-Discrimination Against Transgender Integral University recognizes and respects the gender identity of all individuals and shall ensure that transgender individuals receive the same opportunities and treatment as others. Facilities such as restrooms and housing options shall be inclusive and affirm the identities of transgender members of the community. Education and training programs will be provided to increase awareness and inclusivity regarding gender diversity.
  • 4.7 Disability The university is committed to supporting individuals with physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory disabilities. Reasonable accommodations, accessible infrastructure, inclusive teaching practices and to provide equal participation and opportunities.
  • 4.8 Language Inclusivity Integral University recognizes the importance of language in fostering a truly inclusive environment. Discrimination based on language or linguistic background is strictly prohibited.
  • The university values multilingualism and supports the use of regional, national, and international languages across academic and administrative settings.
  • Communication materials, learning resources, and important notices shall be made accessible in multiple languages wherever feasible.
  • Language support services such as translation, interpretation, and English-language learning assistance will be made available to ensure equitable participation of all students and staff, particularly non-native speakers.
  • Faculty and staff shall be encouraged to use inclusive language that respects cultural and linguistic diversity in all formal and informal communications.

5. Anti-Discrimination and Equity

  • All employment and admission processes shall be designed to promote equity and avoid biases. This includes fair assessment criteria and transparent decision-making.
  • Training programs on unconscious bias and anti-discrimination shall be mandatory for those involved in admissions and recruitment.

6. Anti-Slavery and Ethical Sourcing

  • The university commits to operating in line with anti-slavery principles, ensuring that no practices involving forced labour, human trafficking, or exploitation occur within university operations or in partnerships with suppliers.
  • All contracts and outsourcing agreements must comply with ethical labour standards, ensuring fair treatment and compensation for outsourced workers.

7. Pay Scale Equity

  • Integral University is committed to maintaining a transparent and equitable pay scale system. Pay equity audits will be conducted periodically to identify and address any disparities.
  • Compensation practices shall be fair, competitive, and aligned with industry standards to prevent wage discrimination.

8. Equivalent Rights for Outsourced Workers

  • The university will extend basic rights and benefits to outsourced workers, ensuring they have fair working conditions, access to grievance procedures, and protections against exploitation.
  • Contracts with service providers must include clauses that guarantee fair labour practices.

9. Reporting Discrimination and Protection

  • Integral University shall have a secure and confidential reporting mechanism for individuals who experience or witness discrimination.
  • Individuals who report discrimination shall be protected against retaliation. Investigations into complaints will be conducted with impartiality and integrity.
  • Support services, such as counselling and legal assistance, shall be available to those affected by discriminatory practices.

10. Policy Implementation and Accountability

  • A Diversity and Inclusion Committee shall be established to oversee the implementation of this policy, monitor its effectiveness, and recommend necessary changes.
  • Annual training sessions on diversity, inclusion, anti-discrimination, and ethical practices will be provided to students, staff, and faculty.
  • Regular audits will be conducted to ensure that university practices align with this policy’s standards.

11. Monitoring and Review

  • The policy shall be reviewed every three years to ensure continued compliance with legal standards and best practices in diversity, equity, and ethical conduct.
