Integral University successfully organized a Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare Awareness Program from February 13 to February 25, 2026, with the aim of promoting awareness and understanding of essential reproductive health services among students and the academic community.
The programme highlighted the significance of sexual and reproductive healthcare as a vital component of overall well-being. It focused on educating participants about a wide range of services that support individuals in maintaining healthy reproductive systems and making informed decisions regarding their sexual health. Key areas of discussion included family planning, contraception, maternal healthcare, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), safe pregnancy and childbirth, and access to safe abortion services where legally permitted.
The programme emphasized the importance of access to accurate information and quality healthcare in reducing risks such as unintended pregnancies, maternal mortality, and the spread of infections. Special attention was given to counseling and educational initiatives that empower individuals—particularly adolescents and women—to understand their health, rights, and choices. The sessions also addressed aspects such as prenatal and postnatal care, infertility treatment, and screening for reproductive cancers.
Furthermore, the programme underscored the need for equitable access to healthcare services as a means to promote gender equality and improve public health outcomes. Discussions also highlighted existing challenges, including social stigma, lack of awareness, and limitations in healthcare infrastructure, which often act as barriers to accessing these services. The role of governments and healthcare organizations in ensuring accessibility, affordability, and cultural sensitivity was also emphasized.
The awareness program proved to be informative and impactful, contributing significantly to enhancing knowledge, encouraging responsible health practices, and fostering a more informed and health-conscious community. It successfully reinforced the importance of sexual and reproductive healthcare in building healthier families, stronger communities, and a sustainable future.
