"Cleanliness is Godliness" is the mantra of Mahatma Gandhi Ji he demonstrated, propagated and insisted on individual and community cleanliness throughout his life.
Cleanliness is a habit necessary we every individual, it keeps ourselves physically anal mentally clean including our home, surroundings, environment, pet animals, pond, river. garden, schools. etc. Department of Physics, Integral University organized an event on year September 2016 to contribute a bit in the Go clean Go green initiative. As it is everyone’s responsibility to contribute their hit in keeping the university clean, green and beautiful. The event entitled "Clean India Green India" was organized 40 plant herbs and medicinal plants which can purify the environment by removing toxins and keeping the atmosphere fresh. Students and teachers gathered in NLT building (Grand Floor) at 12:30 PM ward started preparing soil and manure to he used in pluming. At very first, Dr. Seema Srivastava (Head, Department of Physics, Integral University) inaugurated the event by planting a lenongrass sapling in the department lawn and then proceed for the activity in the nearby village Adharkheda, Prathimik Vidhyalaya. The students who participated in the event were tall of joy and enthusiasm. Teachers and students from several departments contributed to the Clean India Green India event with an oath "Na Gandagi Karenge, Na Karne Denge, Bharat Swachch hai, Swachch hi Rakhenge"
Activities Performed:
The faculty coordinators and students of integral University made their own arrangements to reach the Prathmik Vidhyalaya. After reacting the Prathmik Vidhyalaya, they interacted with the staff members, and children of Prathmik Vidhyalaya and also with the local villagers. All of them were very curious about the activity and when they were briefed about the cleanliness of their surroundings, they actively participated in the various activities. To encourage them, students at Integral University, with the help of students and local villagers planted saplings in the school and its surroundings. The importance of plantation to keep the environment clean and pure was also explained. The program ended on a high note with the distribution of refreshments to the staff, children, and local villagers.
