In compliance with the directives of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, the Office of the Dean, Students' Welfare, Integral University, in collaboration with the Integral University Sports Academy (IUSA), celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 on 21 June 2026 at the Convocation Lawn, Main Campus Phase-I, Integral University, Lucknow. The programme was organized under the theme "Yoga for Wellness, Wisdom & World Peace" and witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly 100 students, faculty members, and staff.
The programme commenced with an introductory address by Ms. Kamlesh Singh, Professional Yoga Instructor, who highlighted the importance of Yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid, Dean, Students' Welfare, addressed the gathering and emphasized the significance of integrating Yoga into daily life to achieve holistic health, inner harmony, and overall wellness.
The Yoga session was conducted under the coordination of the Integral University Sports Academy (IUSA), led by Ms. Sitara, with active support from students and faculty members of Integral Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (IIMSR) and various departments of the University. Participants performed warm-up exercises (Sukshma Vyayama)followed by a series of Yoga Asanas, including Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, Bhujangasana, Dhanurasana, Vajrasana, Dandasana, Paschimottanasana, Ardha Matsyendrasana, Setu Bandhasana, Natarajasana, Shalabhasana, and Shavasana, promoting flexibility, balance, strength, and relaxation.
The celebration was also organized in accordance with the communication received from the Higher Education Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, commemorating the successful completion of 12 years of governance by the Central Government. Conducted under the supervision of Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid, Dean, Students' Welfare, the programme effectively promoted awareness about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of Yoga while inspiring participants to adopt a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.
The event reaffirmed Integral University's commitment to promoting holistic health, preventive wellness, and community well-being, while contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).
