The Department of Allied & Healthcare Sciences (Optometry), Integral Institute of Allied Health Sciences & Research, Integral University, successfully organized an extension activity titled “Awareness Campaign on Safe Sight – Early Eye Check is Right” at Dasauli, Kursi Road, Lucknow.
The campaign was conducted with the objective of promoting early eye examinations and preventive eye care, contributing significantly towards Sustainable Development Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being). The initiative also emphasized inclusive healthcare outreach, aligning with SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by engaging with underserved communities.
Students and faculty members actively participated in an awareness walk, spreading awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups and early detection of vision problems. Informative pamphlets focusing on eye care, hygiene, and preventive measures were distributed among the local population. The activity also provided students with an opportunity to enhance their practical exposure and communication skills, supporting SDG 4 (Quality Education).
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Ashfaque Khan, Director, IIAHSR & IINSR, and Mr. Mojahidul Islam, Head of the Department. The event was efficiently managed by Mr. Khan Faiyaz Ahmed, Optometry In-charge, along with Mr. Noor Ahamad. Student coordination was led by Ms. Ritvika Raj Verma and Ms. Adeeba Zehra, while educational materials were reviewed by Ms. Tabassum Israr and Ms. Fauzia Khatoon.
The activity witnessed enthusiastic participation and successfully strengthened community engagement while promoting awareness about eye health and preventive care practices.
