MISSION SHAKTI ABHIYAAN – PHASE 5.0 (from 11-11-25 to 14-11-2025) was celebrated in the Department of Ophthalmology, IIMSR Integral University campus premises. Various Activities like Free Health Check up & Screening Camp for Females attending Eye OPD, Awareness talk and painting competition for Optometry Students, Group Singing competition, Slogan Writing, Debate and Lecture with theme on Women Empowerment for MBBS Students.
MISSION SHAKTI ABHIYAN is a Government of India initiative aimed at empowering women through safety, security, and self-reliance. Under this mission, various institutions—including healthcare facilities—undertake programmes to enhance women’s participation, leadership, and resilience.
The Ophthalmology Department, IIMSR, Mission Shakti activities focused on capacity building, training, gender sensitization, leadership promotion, and improvement of patient-centered eye care services for women.
Through these activities, the Eye Department aims to reduce the burden of avoidable blindness among women, promote their inclusion in the eye health sector, and empower them to lead healthier and more productive lives. The program aligns with the national goals of Women empowerment, universal eye health and SDG 3 i.e. Good health and well-being and sustainable community development.
