The Department of Community Medicine, Integral Institute of Medical Sciences and Research participated in, "Pulse Polio Immunization" on 25-09-2016 at Urban Health Centre (UHTC) Sarvodaya Nagar. Lucknow in collaboration with "BMC Indiranagar, Lucknow".
The Pulse Polio initiative was started with objective of achieving 100 percent coverage of oral polio vaccine. WHO on 24th February 2012 removed India from the list of countries with active endemic wild polio virus transmission.81 children below 5 years of age were vaccinated with oral polio vaccine at the centre.
