INTRODUCTION

The Department of Computer Application, Integral University, Lucknow, successfully organized a Reel Competition on the occasion of International Women’s Day titled “From Curiosity to Discovery – Her Scientific Journey”. The event aimed to celebrate and promote the role of women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) while encouraging students to express their creativity through short video reels.

OBJECTIVE OF THE EVENT

The competition was conducted to inspire students to recognize the contributions of women in STEM fields, promote gender equality, and encourage innovative storytelling through digital media platforms. It also aimed to enhance students’ creative, technical, and communication skills.

THEMES OF THE COMPETITION
Participants created reels based on the following themes:
• Tribute to Women Scientists
• Life of a Woman Researcher
• Girls in AI, Robotics & Coding
• Gender Equality in Research
• Poetry/Shayari on Women’s Day

EVENT DETAILS

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of the BCA and MCA programs. Participants presented engaging and creative reels of 15–30 seconds duration in Hindi and English. Both individual and team (maximum 3 members) entries were allowed. The event featured a variety of creative reels highlighting inspiring journeys of women scientists, innovative ideas in technology, and strong messages on gender equality. The competition concluded on a successful and inspiring note.

Students showcased originality, storytelling skills, and technical creativity through their videos. The event created a vibrant and inspiring atmosphere, celebrating women’s achievements in STEM.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION

Students from BCA and MCA actively participated in the event. The event featured a variety of creative reels highlighting inspiring journeys of women scientists, innovative ideas in technology, and strong messages on gender equality. The competition concluded with appreciation for all participants, and e-certificates were provided to acknowledge their efforts. Outstanding performances were recognized, and winners were awarded prizes for their exceptional creativity and impactful presentations. CONCLUSION REMARK

The event was a great success in fostering awareness about women’s contributions in STEM and encouraging students to think creatively. Special thanks to all faculty coordinators and student coordinators for their dedicated efforts in organizing the event successfully. The reel competition event successfully provided a creative platform for students to showcase their ideas and talents. It encouraged active participation and engagement among students. The activity also helped in spreading awareness about women's empowerment and equality. The department extends sincere thanks to all participants, organizers, and faculty members for their valuable support. Overall, the event contributed positively to learning, creativity, and confidence-building among students.
