Department of Civil Engineering focusses on imparting the latest technology and skills among its students and faculties. With the aim of doing the same, the Department of Civil Engineering, Integral University, organized a seminar “BIM Technology and Project Management” on April 1st, 2023, in collaboration with TechPMC Infosolutions Private Limited. The seminar was skillfully coordinated and managed by Mr. Tabish Izhar, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering. Building Information Modeling (BIM) is the foundation of digital transformation in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. BIM is used to improve the efficiency of the construction process, reduce waste during the construction and to improve the quality and the efficiency of the buildings.
The seminar on “BIM Technology and Project Management” was presented by Mr. Shashank Dixit, Associate Director-Project Management Consulting, TPMC Infosolutions Pvt Ltd. and Mr. Abhinav Mishra, Head Technical, TPMC Infosolutions Pvt Ltd. Mr. Shashank Dixit talked about the importance of Building Information Modelling in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. He further explained the cycle of Building Information Modeling and various dimensions of Building Information Modeling technology. Mr. Shashank Dixit demonstrated the use of various software’s during different stages BIM such as REVIT, PRIMAVERA, NAVISWORKS etc. He also elaborated how the various different engineering tasks can be easily simplified and accelerated using the BIM technology. Mr. Shashank Dixit also shared the live project examples with the audience, which was an excellent learning tool.
Mr. Abhinav Mishra talked about the demand for BIM engineers in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. He explained, how the BIM technology is saving huge amount of money for the clients and will be the way for construction industry. He further explored the job opportunities that are available for BIM engineers and various responsibility associated with different posts.
The seminar ended with an interactive session with the audience. Mr. Shashank Dixit and Mr. Abhinav Mishra motivated student to always focus on developing the skills with latest technology and software’s. A total of 47 students and 8 faculties from civil engineering department participated in the seminar with great enthusiasm and seriousness.
