In diagnosis there is a phrase “Garbage in, garbage out”. The sample sent to the lab represents the kind of collection done by staff including Residents doctors and interns. Proper sample collection, hence reporting is an integral part to diagnosis and treatment.
With this aim the Department of Microbiology organized a two day training program on “Sample collection and transportation” for Resident & Interns on 23rd & 24th March 2023.
A total of 60 post graduate students and Interns from various departments attended this training program.
The training program focused on the practical aspects of sample collection and transportation especially for culture and sensitivity testing in the Microbiology department. This training program helped in understanding the importance of proper sample collection and its transportation along with the implications of sending an improperly collected sample and delay in sample transportation.
The training program was conducted under the guidance of (Prof) Dr. Areena Hoda Siddiqui, Head, Department of Microbiology, Integral Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Integral University and was coordinated and facilitated by the following faculty members.
