In compliance with the directives of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and in observance of National Voters' Day, the Social Responsibility Club of the Department of Civil Engineering, Integral University, Lucknow, organized a Voters’ Pledge Taking Programme on January 24, 2026, at Seminar Hall E-119, First Floor, Block-E.
The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting responsible citizenship, democratic participation, and social accountability among students.
Programme Highlights
The event commenced with an introductory address emphasizing the significance of National Voters’ Day and the crucial role of youth in strengthening democratic institutions. Participants were sensitized about their constitutional rights and duties, with particular emphasis on the importance of free, fair, and ethical voting in a democratic society. The session aimed to encourage informed electoral participation and responsible civic engagement.
The Voters’ Pledge was administered by Dr. Zishan Raza Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, wherein students, faculty members, and laboratory staff collectively pledged to exercise their voting rights responsibly and uphold the principles of democracy.
A total of 35 students actively participated in the programme, reflecting strong awareness and enthusiasm towards civic responsibility. The activity effectively enhanced civic literacy, encouraged informed decision-making, and promoted active citizenship among the participants.
