Food technology is a branch of science in which the food science is applied in manufacturing and preservations of food products. The food technologists study the chemical, physical and microbiological makeup of the food. The food is processed, preserved, packaged and stored according to the specifications by industry and government. The research and development in food technology has resulted into the production of safe and nutritious foods. The food processing industries manufacture a large variety of food products. They include the primary foods like rice and wheat products, oil, sugar and pulses. They are processed to convert into edible form. Food technology courses can be a good career option. There is increasing scope of food technology courses in India.

- Master of Technology (Food Technology) is a 5-year dual degree engineering program which is divided into ten semesters. Through this program, the students are provided with a curriculum of the specialized concept of in Food Technology and Engineering with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge of in Food Science concept. The various areas of concepts in Food Science which are covered by B.Tech in Food Technology course include Food Packaging, Nutrition Science, Food Manufacturing and Processing, Storage, etc.

  • Eligibilty
  • Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and One Subject out of Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology Science with minimum 45% marks in aggregate from a recognized Board/ University.
  • Admission Procedure
  • Candidates have to be successful in IUET 2021 (Integral University Entrance Test)/ JEE-Mains/ JEE-Advanced/ State Level Engineering Entrance Exams across India or other Engineering Entrance Examinations conducted by the prominent universities.

  • Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying exam in the current year and have applied for admission in any UG/PG program of this University should submit the Marks Sheet of the qualifying examination latest by July/Aug of the same year.
