B.Tech Food Technology is a multi-disciplinary course which involves application of basic sciences like chemistry, nutrition, engineering, microbiology and the recent developments in the handling, processing and packaging from the farm to the consumers place. This Four Year course was started here in 2014 with intent to carter the needs of the Food industry and allied fields. The basic objectives of the Food Technologists are to make the food healthier, tastier, and safer for consumers. The students of this course over the entire course, study the techniques involved in the production, processing, preservation, packaging, labelling, quality management, and distribution of food products. The food industry is the largest industry in the world and needs highly trained professionals in food science and technology to ensure the supply, quality, safety of food for everyone and this course paves the way for fulfilling this prospect.
