Research Collaboration Agreement between Oxford University and Integral University, Lucknow

As it is said, “The key to growth is the introduction of higher dimensions of consciousness into our awareness". This is being very righteously implemented by Integral University with the efforts of Dr. Mohd. Haris Siddiqui, Head (Department of Bioengineering), Integral University in its pedagogical upfront. The recent Research Collaboration Agreement between Oxford University and Integral University, Lucknow, is a current day example.

This collaboration has been awarded grant from BMA foundation for medical research. Project is named "Delineating the Role of Human Leukocyte Antigen Locus Susceptibility to Rheumatic Heart Diseases in Oceania and South Asia".

Dr. Tom Parks of the lead has been designated as the project leader and thus will be looking after this whole project management.
The co-investigators of this collaboration project are Prof. Balraj Mittal, Prof Emeritus, Department of Biotechnology, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow along with Prof. Masood Sadiqat, The Children's Hospital & the Institute of Child Health, Lahore Pakistan. Dr. Mohammed Haris Siddiqui, Head, Department of Bioengineering, Integral University will be acting as an associate investigator.

The overall aim of this project is to delineate the role of the HLA locus in susceptibility to RHD, which despite being the foremost candidate remains unclear. The specific objective will be to establish a new collection of DNA samples from cases and controls in India and Pakistan which will be used to confirm or refute associations identified through our earlier HLA analyses.
The project which has commenced on March 1st 2020 will be continuing for over 18 months unless terminated earlier in accordance with this agreement.
This is the beginning of a new dawn in the pioneer of education, Integral University.
