Debate Competition on “Student Unions: A Voice for Students or a Source of Disruption?



The Department of Commerce, Integral University, Lucknow, is organizing a Debate Competition on the thought-provoking topic “Student Unions: A Voice for Students or a Source of Disruption?” on 24 August 2026 at the Seminar Hall, T Block, 1st Floor (Phase 2), Integral University.

The competition aims to provide students with a platform to express their views, develop critical thinking, public speaking, argumentation, and communication skills, and engage in constructive dialogue on the role and impact of student unions in academic institutions.

The event will encourage participants to critically examine both perspectives surrounding student unions—whether they serve as an effective voice for students and contribute to student representation, or whether they can become a source of disruption within educational institutions.
