The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology was established in 2011 to offer comprehensive maternity services and gynaecological care of women with emphasis on quality and affordable patient care. It has developed to a full-fledged teaching and research department to promote quality medical education and produce competent health care professionals. There are eight Faculty Members, two Senior Residents and four Junior Residents.
The objectives of our department are--
To provide quality health care to women throughout their life starting from adolescence to menopause and beyond.
To train the undergraduate and post graduate students to attain the competencies related to Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The department provides comprehensive, competency based medical education (CBME), undergraduate teaching program for medical students, incorporating newer teaching learning methods like problem-based learning, small group discussions, integrated teaching and DOAP sessions making teaching more interesting and effective.
The department has also started post graduate MS degree program since 2020.Regular teaching for the post graduates students is being held in form of bedside teaching, seminars, journal clubs, case discussions etc.
Research: Faculty members and residents are actively involved in various research activities in the department.Various projects have been initiated in the department, and faculty members are actively participating in them as principal investigator or co-investigators.
