Inception of eye department, IIMS&R, goes back to March 2011. It started with basic eye care services, both medical and surgical. Gradually with the progress of institute now the eye department can boast of being fully equipped with most advanced technologies both at diagnostic as well as therapeutic level. The OPD with all modern facilities is attended by an average of about 100-150 patients everyday with about 2000 surgeries being done annually. Our OPD wing is equipped with latest tools like AR, HFA, OCT, IOL master, Lasers etc. for accurate diagnosis and timely management of refractive error, cataract, glaucoma, retinal disorders and other eye diseases. We also boast of having an independent modular OT with Lumera I operating microscope, Laurette phaco, DORC vitrectomy where all latest surgeries including refractive surgeries, corneal transplantation are being routinely done by our skilled team of doctors.

Teaching as well as imparting knowledge and clinical skills to MBBS, MS, optometry and physiotherapy students is being routinely carried out by eminent & learned team of faculty members of department. The motto of our success is teamwork as, teamwork divides the task but multiplies the success.
