The primary focus of our department is to provide best facilities of teaching and training to the students with complete knowledge of drugs used in clinical practice with regard to indications, side effects, contraindications and safe use in human beings.

The department also focuses upon rational prescribing of drugs & dosage forms.Emphasis is given on practical skill development of students using Manniquines and training on animals in simulated environment by computer assisted learning laboratory equipped with software on animal experiments for demonstration of various drug effects.
We have well qualified and dedicated team of faculty members to impart quality education to students.
Overall our aim is to provide knowledge and skill development to the students in pharmacology together with pharmacovigilance and rational prescribing of drugs to ensure greatest health benefit to mankind.

Department of Pharmacology, IIMS&R was established in 2013 & is recognized by MCI for M.B.B.S & M.D Pharmacology courses.Dept.is involved in diagnostic & research besides teaching and training of M.D (PG), M.B.B.S. (U.G.), PhD, M.Sc. (Medical Pharmacology), B.P.T, DMLT, BSc MLT, MSc MLT, Nursing and other paramedical courses. Department plays an active part in Hospital infection surveillance & prevention through HICC IIMS&R & distributes timely alerts regarding revised infection control, antibiotic, water quality, air quality & disinfection policies Department consists of various master of art sections performing the diagnostic tests routinely.
