(Programme Outcomes)

Program outcomes describe what the graduates are expected to know and be able to do by the time of graduation. The Computer Science and Engineering Department must enable students to attain:

  • PO1- Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2- Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO3- Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4- Conduct investigations of complex problems:Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5- Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO6- The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO7- Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PO8- Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PO9- Individual and team work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • PO10- Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PO11- Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO12- Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

The main outcomes of the M.Tech (CSE) program are given here. At the end of the program an student shall be able:

  • PO1: To apply fundamental and advanced scientific and engineering knowledge in the area of computer science and engineering .
  • PO2: To evaluate and critically analyze complex software engineering problems, identify their optimal solutions and be able to implement the solution.
  • PO3: To work upon unfamiliar problems through investigative studies and research and contribute to the development of technological knowledge available in the world.
  • PO4: To transfer technology effectively on broadly defined engineering needs with engineering community and with society by using advanced computing techniques and tools.
  • PO5: To work in a collaborative manner and to identify opportunities by working with others.
  • PO6: To work on a project using project management principle and to provide leadership to team and project.
  • PO7: To engage in lifelong learning adopt new developments and participate in ongoing education opportunities to endorse personal and organizational growth.
  • PO8: To demonstrate independent learning and scholarship by adopting research pursuits
  • PO9: To develop skill to express and communicate effectively while carrying out discussion, making presentation and writing reports etc.
  • PO10: To use the technical skills and modern engineering tools including simulation and modeling for engineering needs.

Engineering Graduates will possess the ability to:

The main outcomes of the Ph.D programme are given here. At the end of the program an student shall be able:

  • PO1: Research and Discipline specific knowledge : At the end of their PhD course, scholars should have a thorough knowledge of the literature and a comprehensive understanding of scientific methods and techniques applicable to their own research.
  • PO2: Problem analysis : Identifying the overriding problem and establishing the causes and effects related to that problem.
  • PO3: Ethics : Practice and adhere to ethical principles in professional and personal aspects and strive to spread these virtues in the society.
  • PO4: Critical Thinking : Scholar should be able to identify and assess problems and find appropriate long term solutions to them.
  • PO5: Design, development of solutions : On completion of the programme, research students should be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the literature and a comprehensive understanding of methods and techniques applicable to their own research.
  • PO6: Self-Directed and Life-long learning : Scholar should be open to adapt to new rules, techniques, procedure as and when required and should be keen to learning.
  • PO7: Social Interaction : Social interaction is important because it enables scholars to enhance their communication skills which in turn help them to deal with various parties during his /her research. The social interaction helps to improve the communication skills of students by enabling them to become good listeners.
  • PO8: Effective Communication : Should be able to speak, write, read and listen clearly in person and through electronic media.
  • PO9: Environment and Sustainability : Understand the outcomes of materials and techniques used in research and minimize its negative impact on environment.
  • PO10: Effective Citizenship : Contribute to the society and human kind through his /her innovative research.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) are given below:

  • PEO1: To produce graduates who have strong foundation of knowledge and skills in the field of computer science and engineering.
  • PEO2: To produce graduates who are employable in industries/public sector/research organizations or work as an entrepreneur.
  • PEO3: To produce graduates who can provide solutions to challenging problems in their profession by applying computer engineering theory and practices.
  • PEO4: To produce graduates who can provide leadership and are effective in multidisciplinary environment.

  • PEO1: To provide opportunities for acquiring in-depth knowledge of fundamental concepts and programming skills for integrated development.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) are given below:

  • PEO1: To provide theoretical and practical knowledge of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (in the domain of Computer Science & Engineering) for leading successful career in industries as well as pursuing higher studies.
  • PEO2: To develop the ability of innovative thinking, analyzing and making decisions for offering techno-commercially feasible and socially acceptable solutions to real life problems by applying AI and data Science.
  • PEO3: To develop lifelong learning, professional and ethical attitude for embracing global challenges and make positive impact on environment and society.

The Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the Ph.D. programme are given below:

  • PEO1: The main goal of the PhD program is to develop researchers who are well-equipped to undertake research challenges of the future for the benefit of the society.
  • PEO2: To create an environment that encourages the student’s originality and creativity in their research.
  • PEO3: Giving an opportunity to develop skills in making and testing hypotheses, in developing new theories, and in planning and conducting experiments.
  • PEO4: To give an opportunity to expand the student’s knowledge of their research area, including its theoretical foundations and the specific techniques used to study it.

PSO's

(Program Specific Outcomes )

By the completion of Computer Science and Engineering program the student will have following Program specific outcomes.

  • PSO1: Ability to understand the principles and working of computer systems. Students have a sound knowledge about the hardware and software aspects of computer systems.
  • PSO2: Ability to design and develop computer programs and understand the structure and development methodologies of software systems.
  • PSO3: Ability to apply their skills in the field of algorithms, networking, web design, cloud computing and data analytics.
  • PSO4: Ability to apply knowledge to provide innovative novel solutions to existing problem and identify research gaps

At the end of the program the students is able to:

  • PSO1: Identify and apply domain specific tools to solve real world problem in field of Cloud Technology and Information Security
  • PSO2: Design, develop and analyze the use of the Information security tools and technique for providing security.
  • PSO3: Design and develop solutions to efficiently utilize the cloud technology related problems.

At the end of the program the students should be:

  • PSO1: Able to demonstrate data analysis skills and AI for effective interpretation and decision making to solve real life problems.
  • PSO2: Able to carry out research in the advanced areas of AI & Data Science and address the basic needs of the society.

At the end of the program the students should be:

  • PSO1: Able to demonstrate the knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and cloud computing for designing intelligent systems.
  • PSO2: Able to apply computational knowledge and project development skills to provide innovative solutions.

At the end of the program an student is:

  • PSO1: Able to take on existing models, techniques, algorithm etc. for efficient solving problems
  • PSO2: Able to design, develop and evaluate a new and innovative project which meet the desired needs of industry and society.
  • PSO3: Able to apply software engineering principles and practices to provide software solution.
  • PSO4: Able to take up higher studies, Research & Development and Entrepreneurships in the modern computing environment

At the end of the program the student will be able to:

  • PSO1: Have required expertise and knowledge of advanced computing and applications of engineering.
  • PSO2: Understand and demonstrate advanced knowledge of statistical data analytics as applied to large data sets
  • PSO3: Understand and demonstrate the role of statistics in the analysis of large datasets
  • PSO4: Critically analyze existing Big Data datasets and implementations

For the M.Tech program in Robotics Control & Intelligence:

  • PSO1: Innovative Design and Construction: Create and build robotic systems for different applications using analytical, logical, and problem solving skills.
  • PSO2: AI-Integrated Software Systems: Develop AI-powered software systems to control and operate robotic systems.
  • PSO3: Real-world Problem Resolution: Apply robotics and AI methodologies to solve real-world challenges across various domains, including industrial robotics, service robots, exoskeletons, surgical robots, delivery vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and crewless micro aerial vehicles.

This consolidation aims to provide a unified and coherent understanding of the key objectives and outcomes for the MTech program in robotics control and Intelligence.

For the Phd program in Computer Science and Engineering:

  • PSO1: In depth understanding in the area of specialization so as to conceptualize and implement research for real problems.
  • PSO2: Developing the ability to make acceptable judgments on complex issues in the specialized fields and produce original research work.
  • PSO3: Capable of contributing to the development of academic and professional skills, techniques, tools, innovative ideas and approaches.
  • PSO4: Acquire position at top level in industry and research institute.
