Collaborative MOU Between Integral University and CSIR-CIMAP: Advancing Education and Research

Another Step towards Academic Excellence - An MOU between Integral University and CSIR-CIMAP

An MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) was signed between CSIR-CIMAP (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants) and Integral University, Lucknow, on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, on Integral University’s campus.

Sharing a common desire to explore, extend and strengthen the functional relationship, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Integral University, Lucknow and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP) in order to share the facilities and expertise available in each others institution.

Science is the basic phenomenon that is present around us. 21st Century is called the age of boons of science. Everyday, we see something new and extra-ordinary and then a time comes when that extra-ordinary object becomes a part of our daily life. Science plays a vital role in our day-to-day lives. We are surrounded by scientific inventions and discoveries, be it our rooms or our kitchen. Science is creating wonders almost every day. What was once sheer fantasy is now almost a reality by virtue of the recent achievements of men of science. Almost everything that eases our daily life is a wonder of modern science. Science has conferred many gifts on modern life. Indeed, they are far too many to be counted. This all depends on the scientists and research scholars constantly trying to make our lives easier, so, in order that students become better scientists and scholars, the potential is highly levied on the quality of scientific studies


Sharing a common desire to explore, extend and strengthen the functional relationship between the Academic Institute/University and National Scientific Institutes/Laboratories of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), Integral University (NAAC accredited university approved by UGC under section 2(f) and 12 (b) of the UGC act 1956, presently having 13 faculty of study, 47 departments, 250 plus programs, approx. 12,000 students) and Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CSIR-CIMAP), Lucknow and its Resource Centers at Purara, Pantnagar, Hyderabad, Bangalore in order to share the facilities and expertise available in each others’ institution, herewith sign a Memorandum of Understanding.

With the feelings of Together we grow, the MOU will open new doors of possibilities for learners. The students, teachers, research scholars, etc. would be able to carry out a part of their research work at CSIR-CIMAP under CSIR-CIMAP scientists at the level of C and above. CSIR-CIMAP will provide short term training to students, research scholars and faculty members of Integral University in their areas of specialization. The said MOU, in two original copies,was signed at Integral University, in the presence of Prof. S.W. Akhtar, Chancellor, Integral University, Lucknow, Dr. Abdul Samad, Director (Acting), CSIR-CIMAP, Prof. Aqil Ahmad, Vice Chancellor (Acting), Integral University, Lucknow, Dr. Haris Siddiqui, Directorate of Admission & Counselling, Integral University, Controller of Administration, CSIR-CIMAP and Registrar, Integral University, Lucknow.


The above MoU will be effective for a period of ten years starting from date of signing. The MoU shall be periodically reviewed in joint meeting/s to assess the progress and also to identify new areas for collaboration.

The MOU will pave ways of opportunities for both the organizations, a partnership which will enrich and enhance the scholars for the betterment of everyone.
