Alumni Interaction Programme on NGO’s role during Covid-19

During this challenging phase of the pandemic, our alumni are the torchbearers for others. They have come forward and extended their services for the good of the entire community. Their generosity is beyond excellence and we appreciate the initiatives taken by them for the betterment of our society. Alumni Welfare Association of Integral University (AWAIU) in association with Integral University Social Services (IUSS) has organized an Alumni Interaction Program of our alumnus Er. Abdul Saboor on the topic "NGO's Role During Covid-19" on 25th September 2021 at 11:00 am in Hall-1, near the central auditorium.

The event started with a welcome speech by Ms. Nashra Javed, Assistant Manager, IUSS. On behalf of Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid, Dean Student Welfare; she welcomed Er. Abdul Saboor (B.Tech M.E. 2010-14) HVAC Engineer, SGPGI Lucknow & Head of NGO “Madad Karo Na” to share his experience with the faculty members and students.

Er. Abdul Saboor was honored to be invited as a speaker for this event and he discussed the working of his NGO "Madad Karo Na". It is a unified association of helping hands from Lucknow and other cities and it started back in 2020 as a support group to provide food and other essentials to migrant workers during this pandemic. However, with the hit of the second wave, the team has come forward as a pandemic relief for all those in need. The task force has emerged as a trusted disseminator of correct and verified information about COVID-19 amid all the chaotic chatter and has even tied up with a few NGOs to widen its reach and scope. Besides this and several other accomplishments under its belt, his team aims to reach out to masses in rural areas and spread mass awareness about coronavirus infection and related precautions, from ground zero.

He explained different ways through which students and faculties from Integral University can collaborate with his team and serve those who are in real need through Ration/Food and Medical/Hygiene Kits distribution drives. He discussed how teaching fraternity can contribute in various ways to Education/Awareness drives in nearby villages and identified places. The doubts of students, regarding the working protocols at ground level, were cleared by the speaker.

Post the discussion Prof. Monowar Alam Khalid, Dean Student Welfare appreciated the work and efforts done by Abdul Saboor and his team. He expressed his admiration towards the cause "Madad Karo Na" is working for and acknowledged the zeal through which they are working selflessly. He further emphasized the importance of social work in our routine for serving humanity at large. In the end, he presented a Memento to honor Er. Abdul Saboor for his excellent work along with the Certificate of Appreciation as a token of gratitude.

Finally, the program was concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Er. Ali Saad, Coordinator, Alumni Welfare Association Integral University (AWAIU).
