National Webinar to Realize the Reading Mission-2022
Under NEP-2020
PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE OF READING

Task Force in association with Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), Integral University organized a National Webinar on “Reading Mission 2022-Past, Present & Future of Reading” on 05.07.2021 for students & teachers of Integral University and other Universities & Institutes in India to honor the father of ‘Library Movement in Kerala’, the late Sri. P.N. Panicker. Total 414 persons from 23 Universities and Institutes have registered in the webinar.
The event started under the patronage of Prof. Syed Waseem Akhtar, Honorable Founder & Chancellor and Dr. Syed Nadeem Akhtar, Pro-Chancellor, Integral University, Lucknow. The event observes the gracious presence of Prof. Javed Musarrat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Integral University, Lucknow as Chairman of the event with Prof. Basheer A. Khan, Former Vice-Chancellor, SKMU, Jharkhand as the speaker.



The webinar started with welcome speech by Prof. Syed Aqeel Ahmad, Director HRDC, Integral University, Lucknow.

Prof. Basheer A. Khan enlightened the august gathering with great clarity and lifelong experience about the importance of reading, its role in overall development of a human being. Prof. Basheer highlights that the roots of reading have existed since 3500 BC in ancient Sumerian civilization and reading methods evolve so much nowadays. Now the internet and modern gadgets facilitate the reader by making contents available with just a click on the computer. Prof. Basheer also answered several questions of the participants and quenched their thirst for knowledge.

Prof. Javed Musarrat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Integral University, Lucknow showed his concern about reading culture at primary and secondary education by highlighting the importance of inculcating reading habit at school level wherein young minds can effectively molded and future citizen of India having critical thinking ability with sound knowledge may be created. Prof. Musarrat highlighted various government initiatives to support this cause and showed confidence that National Education Policy-2020 will surely help in achieving visualized objectives of Reading Mission-2022.
The webinar successfully completed with vote of thanks to all by Prof. A. K. Saxena, Dean Faculty of Commerce & Management, Integral University, Lucknow. The webinar was very well conducted by Dr. Asma Farooque, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce & Management, Integral University, Lucknow.
