Women's Day Celebration: Empowering Change at Integral University Lucknow

Integral University celebrated International Women's Day on 8th March 2018 on the theme “Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women's lives”.



The programme was organised by Women's Grievance Cell and Women's Study Cell. Mrs. Azra Wasim, Director, Techno Academy was the Chief Guest, Prof. M.K.J. Siddiqui, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Acting), Integral University, Prof. Rooprekha Verma, Ex-Vice Chancellor, University of Lucknow, Dr. Saroj Srivastava, leading Gynecologist were the Guests of Honour and Dr. Jabeen Fatima, an eminent English Scholar was the invited speaker. Mr. Syed Wasim Ahmad, OSD to Chancellor was also present on the dias. Besides. Directors, Deans, HoDs, faculty members and students were present in the Central Hall.

The programme started with the floral welcome of guests followed by the welcome address of Prof. Iffat Zareen Ahmed, Chairperson, Women's Grievance Cell, Integral University. Dr. Jabeen Fatima spoke about diversified women issues. Dr. Saroj Srivastava, Ex-Advisor, Mahila Kalyan Vibhag, UP addressed the audience with thought-provoking words. Mr. Syed Wasim Ahmed, IPS (Retd.) shared some personal experiences with the audience. Prof. Dr. Rooprekha Verma, Founder and Secretary, Saanjhi Duniya, and Ex-Vice Chancellor, Lucknow University spoke about the gender equity between both males and females. Prof. M. K. J. Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor (Acting) also addressed the audience on women's concerns.

On the occasion, Mrs. Azra Wasim, Chief Guest graced the programme with her presence and motivational and poetic address. Dr. Bushra Wadood, member Women Grievance Cell and Secretary, Women's Study Cell proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the distribution of mementoes to the guests by Prof. M. K. J. Siddiqui who wished all the women participants success and adviced them “carpe diem” to seize the opportunities that come their way.
