Why choose Architecture?
We may say that a little architect is in all of us as we embark on tasks that require us to think, conceptualize, collaborate and build our thoughts to create our spaces. A detailed study of this art which is the process of planning, designing and constructing buildings or any other structures is Architecture.
Integral Architecture students can claim to be part of something huge and significant, something opulently human. It's an indispensable, yet cool subject where one experiences the brick-and-mortar reality of the chosen study and also physically see the creativity take its best shape.
There’s a lot more to a degree from Integral's Faculty of Architecture & Planning, than sitting in the classrooms and writing notes. Architecture won’t just run you through a history of all the people who made magnificent structures and how they were created, it also gives a chance to practice the craft. The degree teaches how to plan buildings so that they line up with pre-existing structures and provide effective services, it equips to consider the environmental impact of the design and how those designs might be reasonably implemented.
Where a lot of degrees might see students working on their own, held up in a library, a degree in Architecture will, more often than not, make students act as teams. Study Architecture and, often, you’ll find yourself in the midst of a group project, having to coordinate with a host of other people to produce something with intent. That’s not easy, and giving it a go develops skills in empathy, understanding, delegation, communication, and leadership.
There's diversity to a degree in Architecture and a student can look forward to doing it all. The work of architects is rich and varied and requires a wide range of technical, creative, practical and strategic thinking.
Thinking architecturally is really about how you identify problems, understand their components, and are able to re-conceptualize shortcomings as opportunities.
A prospective architect can look forward to one of the most viscerally satisfying jobs in the modern marketplace.
Architects have literally a concrete effect on communities and the people who live in them, designing leisure homes, Malls, schools, resorts, just any place needed to live and enjoy life. Study Architecture and you’ll be doing something genuinely, unambiguously relevant and important.
With about 400 architecture colleges which have an approximate intake of 60 students each, to produce roughly around 24,000 graduate per year. This is only 20% of the national requirement. So the demand is surely there. Thereby if one has a creative bent of mind, an artistic hand, and can handle a math and geometry artistically, then a career in architecture is just perfect!!!
There is a growing need for qualified architects all around the globe who can contribute to the environment by creating sustainable, green buildings as well as conserving the architectural heritage. A degree in architecture earned in India will give you the much-needed international perspective, an exposure to global trends and hands-on training to make a real difference in the industry.
