On behalf of the Department of Commerce, I extend my warm welcome to all of you at the hub
of academic excellence in the historic city of Lucknow, fondly known as the City of Nawabs.
Our department takes immense pride in fostering a legacy of hard work, dedication, and
consistent pursuit of success. Over time, our academic community has proven that deliberate
efforts, coupled with unwavering commitment, lead to outstanding achievements.
The Founder and Hon’ble Chancellor of this University, Prof. S. W. Akhtar, envisioned an
institution deeply rooted in excellence, ethics, and values. Following his vision, the Department
of Commerce began its journey in 2013 with just fifty-five students enrolled in the B. Com
(Hons) program. Today, the department stands strong with over 750 students, marking a
significant milestone in its growth and impact.
